the first week on the job

well i've just finished my first full week of working as an english teacher and boy isn't it fun. most of my classes are of the age group of 4 to 14 years of age and their english skills range from poor ot reasonable. i love teaching the younger kids because i get to ham it up abit and act like a fool. Kens main pholosiphy in his school is "have fun and play games but dont forget to review all the work they have done". i have only got one class thatis in the age group of 10 to 14 and i find it dificalt at the moment to teach to them, just trying to get them to respond to questions that i ask them is a nightmare.

anyway the reason it has taken me so long to post on the blog is that i have only just bought myself a computer. its an AMD 64+ 2.11 ghz processor with 2 gig worth of DDR RAM, 16x DVD-RW, 250 gig HDD, GForce4 8300 GS graphics card, with an 19'1 inch LCD monitor which set me back about 826.38 AUD. i've also bought myself a BMX for about 87 AUD as well as some other items that i needed for my appartment.

The Continuation

back again this will be the final post from Beijing as today i fly out to Changchun in a couple of hours the day and a half i have spent here with Jon and his mates have been great and have helped me get used to the climate.

it's a dry heat that flows through Beijing and as a Tasmanian the weather is a pain. I'm still nervous about being in china and still worry about not knowing the language but i will try and hopefully i should be able to post again in about five to six days

if anybody is actually reading this please do leave notes/comments as with out them i may decide to stop posting.

FLYING ON A JET PLANE

well this will be my last post for a while as today i start my journey to Jilin. My flight from tassie is to day and I'll be spending the night at Tallamarine for my flight to Beijing Friday morning to see Jon.

god I'm nervous, I've never flown alone before and i decide to fly to china, what am i thinking, man I'm going to miss everybody.


well hopefully I'll have a pictorial of my trip for everyone by my next post

DUM DUM DUMMMMMM

well it's official the chinese are alowing the wilderbeast passage into their country wooooohooooooo. now for the expencive part of the trip... PAYING FOR EVERYTHING those who know me know how i can be about money and how i seem to be perpetualy broke. Well today i'm spending around 3 thousand Australian dollars for flights, insurance and lugage

damn there is now no way i can back out of this. i just hope i can teach better than i can speak the english language.

VISA: the waiting

there seams to be nothing worse than waiting on a visa to be processed.
i sent all the necessary information to china and was told to wait ten to fourteen days for the Chinese government to process it. It's been six days so far and because i have to wait for the paperwork to come down to AUS before i can start to pack. My fingernails have been completely nored off, with out the visa i can't plan anything:
like what am i going to take?
when will i have the "going away Piss up"?
when do i go and have the necessary vaccinations?
and will i be able to play WOW properly over there?

and of course the most important question:
how do i ask in Chinese "how much dose it cost for three quarter ponders and a large coke"?

I gotta Job

woooohooooo i finaly got a job in china yesssss

the company i'm going to work for is Kenneths English school in Jilin city north china just above north korea (there website www.kennethsenglishschool.com)

the reasons i'm going there are as follows
1. all questions i asked were answered promptly and trufully to me.
2. the other teachers i have been in contact with realy enjoy there work.
3. i'll be in a 2 beadroom apartment BY MY SELF(woop).
4. they were interested in me.
5. i was able to convince my perants that going there i wasn't going to loose any bodyparts to the black market.
6. i couldn't find any bad reports about kenneth abd his school.

man this is going to be exciting.

i finaly completed all of the assessment requirements for my TESOL qualification and today i started to look online for jobs

i posted my resume online and i just need to wait and see about job offers... this may take a while but i can wait

just need to get a descent bank behind me and i'll be off
